Morning Person as defined by wikipedia: a person who usually gets up early in the morning and goes to bed early in the evening.
This never has been and I doubt will ever be me. Adam on the other hand
is was a morning person before he became a daddy! Once you no longer have an alarm clock that wakes you up at the time you set, but rather the time your beautiful child(ren) decide to wander more like run into your bedroom wide awake and ready to take on the world. Even if they are ready to start their day before the sun rises.
We are trying to transition out of naps in the afternoon and as worried as I was about doing it, things seem to be going really well! The kids have enjoyed being able to stay up, while this momma still has time to get some things done around the house. They have also loved being able to snuggle on the couch & watch a movie. It’s a total win win situation!
Last night this was Aiden by 6:30. He had made it about two weeks without a nap & is 6 days without his tinka also known in other houses as a binki, pacifier, nuk .. the list could on for forever. I am so proud of him!!
Since we have transitioned out of nap time, he has been going to bed earlier, but has been sleeping until the sun is awake!! We have even made it into a game. We now say “see you when the sun wakes up” so he will check now to see if the sun is awake so he knows if it is time to wake up.
Even Hailey was snug as a bug & ready for bed pretty early last night. For the first time in a long time Adam and I had time to spend together when we were both awake & it was not when we were in the car running errands, on one of the few date nights we get.
We may be sleep deprived & forgetful but I wouldn’t trade these memories for anything.
When Adam woke Hailey up this morning & her response was “I’m trying to sleep, come back later.”
Oh the joys to come with waking these non morning kidlets up!
